En tanto Hacke es un miembro original y bajista de la seminal banda Einstürzende Neubauten. Su nuevo álbum "The Current" que combina rock y electrónica es para ambos artistas la banda sonora que ven y experimentan en sus vidas. Hacke nos anuncia un nuevo de Einstürzende Neubauten para mayo próximo con el título "Alles in Allem" y junto con ello están celebrando su 40 aniversario este año, lo que los llevaría por una gira mundial que, por el momento y dada la situación que afecta al mundo, estará en compás de espera. Their new album "The Current" that blends rock and electronics is the soundtrack of what both artists see and experience in their lives. Hacke announces a new Einstürzende Neubauten for next May with the title "Alles in Allem" and together with it they are celebrating their 40th anniversary this year, which would take them on a world tour that, for the moment and given the situation that affects to the world, it will keep on hold. Supongo que viajar desde hace 10 años ha influido en tu música. Si es así, ¿cómo fue influenciado? Danielle: “Nos ha abierto las mentes y nos ha ayudado a encontrar nuevas formas de expresión. Cuando nos deshicimos de las paredes de nuestro departamento, nos ayudó a deshacernos de las paredes en nuestra percepción. Nuestro arte ha cambiado en todos los sentidos: es más libre, menos estructurado, más experimental pero con elementos clásicos”. Viajar es estar en constante movimiento y seguramente te permite actualizar tus ideas y facilitar las colaboraciones con otros músicos. ¿Qué piensas? Alexander: “Sí, es genial ver el mundo como uno en lugar de estar separado por el idioma o la cultura. Viajar te ayuda a entender que todas las personas básicamente quieren lo mismo: salud, felicidad, amor. Experimentar diferentes naturalezas y tradiciones ayuda a entender que todo tiene una razón y belleza, sin importar cuán opuesto estás a las cosas a las que estés acostumbrado. Nos ha hecho sentir más conectados y relajados. Confiamos más en la actitud general y hemos conocido personas maravillosas”. Para Alexander: Con respecto a Einstürzende Neubauten, ¿crees que la idea de "colapsar nuevos edificios" todavía está en vigor? Alexander: “Einstürzende Neubauten está celebrando su 40 aniversario este año, hemos grabado un nuevo álbum "Alles in Allem" que se lanzará en mayo y si no fuera por el bloqueo de la peste, ahora nos estaríamos embarcando en una gira mundial. Entonces sí, la "Fuerza" todavía está con nosotros...” En el comunicado de prensa, tu describes a "The Current" como un "dron cinematográfico". ¿Podrías por favor explicar esta idea? Danielle: “Nuestra música se ha convertido en la banda sonora de nuestra vida. Es un espejo de las cosas que vemos y experimentamos. Por eso lo llamamos cinemático. Mucha gente ha dicho que suena como una banda sonora de una película y muchos cineastas nos piden que contribuyamos con nuestra música a sus películas. Drone es porque tenemos muchos drones en nuestras piezas, el zumbido de los instrumentos, el zumbido del canto de la garganta de Alexander y el zumbido de la vida. Vivimos en tiempos turbulentos y muy cambiantes. ¿Cómo crees que este contexto dará forma a tu música? Danielle: “Solo estamos al comienzo de esta situación de virus, así que no sabemos qué sucederá, pero podemos ver cómo el codicioso capitalismo ha dado forma y destruido nuestro mundo. En nuestra música tratamos de crear una energía positiva que pueda ayudar a inspirar a las personas a parar y darse cuenta de cómo están viviendo. Deténgase y reconsideren qué pasos quieren generar con sus acciones. Creemos que los artistas tienen la responsabilidad de crear arte que ayude a cambiar e inspirar a nuestro mundo de manera positiva y eso es lo que estamos tratando de hacer”. Guillermo Escudero Marzo 2020		I guess that traveling for 10 years now has influenced your music. If so, how was it influenced? Danielle: “It has opened our minds and helped us find new ways of expression. As we got rid of the walls of our apartment it helped get rid of the walls in our perception. Our art has changed in everyway – it is freer, less structured more experimental but with classic elements.” Traveling is being in constant movement and it surely allows you to refresh your ideas and to ease collaborations with other musicians. What do you think? Alexander: “Yes, it is great to see the world as one instead of separated by language or culture. Traveling helps you understand that all people basically want the same thing: health, happiness, love. Experiencing different natures and traditions helps understand that everything has a reason and beauty no matter how opposite to things that you may be used to. It has made us feel more connected and relaxed. We trust more in the general attitude and have met wonderful people.”  For Alexander: Regarding Einstürzende Neubauten, do you think that the idea of "Collapsing new buildings" is still in force? Alexander: “Einstürzende Neubauten are celebrating their 40th anniversary this year, we have recorded a new album “Alles in Allem”, which is due to be released in May and if it wasn’t for the plague lockdown, we would be embarking on a world tour about now. So yes, the “Force” is still with us…” In the press release you describe "The Current" as a "cinematic drone". Could you please explain this idea? Danielle: “Our music has become the soundtrack of our life. It is a mirror of the things we see and experience. That is why we call it cinematic. A lot of people have said it sounds like a film soundtrack and many filmmakers ask us to contribute our music to their films. Drone is because we have many drones in our pieces, the drone of the instruments, the drone of Alexander’s throat singing and the drone of life.  We live in turbulent and very changing times. How do you think this context will shape your music?  Danielle: “We are only at the beginning of this virus situation so we do not know what will happen, but we can see how greedy capitalism has shaped and destroyed our world. In our music we try to create a positive energy that can help inspire people to stop and look how they are living. Stop and rethink what footstep they want to generate with their actions. We think that artists have the responsibility to create art that helps change and inspire our world in a positive way and that is what we are trying to do.” Guillermo Escudero March 2020
