El proyecto se inició originalmente de forma anónima por el difunto Peter “Sleazy” Christopherson (de Throbbing Gristle, Psychic TV y, sobre todo, Coil) junto con el afiliado y remezclador experimentado de Coil, Danny Hyde, quien continuó el proyecto junto con John Deek, quien falleció, en 2013. "Contemplating Nothingness" es el tercer lanzamiento de Electric Sewer Age y el segundo que Hyde terminó solo.
Dada la historia de Hyde haciendo remezclas para artistas como Nine Inch Nails, Scorn, Chris & Cosey, Psychick Warriors Ov Gaia o Depeche Mode y por cierto su trabajo en el disco seminal de Coil “Love’s Secret Doman”, este disco tiene un carácter ceremonial y lisérgico, donde se reúnen el dub, con atisbos al jazz, el ritmo industrial, etno ambient y psicodélico.
“Still Too Far To Go” comienza con un palpitante ritmo y teclados ambientales junto a una flauta arabesca que sirve como preámbulo para “Whose Gonna Save My Soul” con su aire oriental y voz fantasmal que narra a la soledad, el egoísmo, la codicia y la necesidad de liberarse de ello. “Chebo” con su dub arrastrado parece proclamar una plegaria del más allá con atisbos a Coil por su sonido orgánico y ceremonial.
“Self Doubting Trip” con su persistente ritmo industrial y voces distorsionadas es el contrapunto a “Dekotur” con sus articuladas y melódicas notas del sintetizador.
Hyde es un maestro para encontrar los samples precisos para crear las atmósferas seductoras y esotéricas.

The project was originally started anonymously by the late Peter "Sleazy" Christopherson (of Throbbing Gristle, Psychic TV and Coil) along with Coil's affiliate and experienced remixer, Danny Hyde, who continued the project along with John Deek, who passed away, in 2013. "Contemplating Nothingness" is the third release of Electric Sewer Age and the second one that Hyde finished alone.
Since Hyde’s body of work with remixes for artists like Nine Inch Nails, Scorn, Chris & Cosey, Psychick Warriors Ov Gaia or Depeche Mode and of course his work on the seminal Coil album "Love's Secret Doman", this LP has a ceremonial and lysergic character, where meet dub, with jazz glimpses, industrial rhythm, ethno ambient and psychedelics.
“Still Too Far To Go” stars with a throbbing rhythm and environmental keyboards next to an arabesque flute that serves as a preamble to “Whose Gonna Save My Soul” with its oriental flavour and haunted voice that narrates loneliness, selfishness, greed and the need to get rid of it. "Chebo" with his dragged dub seems to proclaim a prayer from beyond with glimpses to Coil for its organic and ceremonial sound.
“Self Doubting Trip” with its persistent industrial rhythm and distorted voices is the counterpoint to “Dekotur” with its articulated and melodic synthesizer notes.
Hyde and his master skills find the unique samples to create the seductive and esoteric atmospheres.
