Kirk Barley es un compositor y productor oriundo de Yorkshire de quien el sello 33-33 de Londres editó su último álbum “Landscapes”. Barley también tiene el proyecto electrónico Bambooman.
Sumergirse en la música de Barley es encontrarse en un ambiente de sutiles sonidos, comenzando por los registros de campo que capturan corrientes de agua, fuegos artificiales, zumbidos de insectos, ladridos de perros, entre otros. Además y en un ambiente sigiloso, aparecen los punteos suaves de la guitarra eléctrica y de tanto en tanto, los tambores en vivo de Matt Davies se expresan con soltura, junto a fragmentos de notas del sintetizador. Todo transcurre en pequeñas imágenes que se van conformando como canciones de cuna que conllevan un tono lúdico que se manifiesta especialmente en “Cradle” y que me remite al maravilloso track "Banteay Srey" de Carl Stone. La aguda percusión en “Water Wheel” parecen gotas de agua luego que son pasadas por el pitch y las guitarras procesadas suenan naive e incluso frágiles.
Barley propone al oyente que esté atento a los microscópicos sonidos que revolotean en en el ambiente para así sorprenderlo(a).

Kirk Barley is a composer and producer from Yorkshire from whom the London label 33-33 released his latest album "Landscapes." Barley also run Bambooman an electronic project.
To immerse in Barley's music is to find yourself in an environment of subtle sounds, starting with the field records that capture water currents, fireworks, buzzing insects, barking dogs, among others. In addition, and in a stealthy environment, the soft taps of the electric guitar appear, and from time to time, the live drums of Matt Davies they spread freely, along with fragments of synthesizer notes. Everything takes place in small images that are shaped like lullabies that carry that carry a playful tone which especially is manifested on "Cradle" and that refers me to the wonderful track "Banteay Srey" by Carl Stone. The acute percussion on "Water Wheel" looks like drops of water after they are passed through the pitch and the processed guitars sound naive and even fragile.
Barley proposes to the listener to be attentive to the microscopic sounds that flutter in the environment in order to surprise him/her.
