Sophie Schnell aka PYUR de Munich hace su debut debut, Epoch Sinus, en el sello Hotflush en 2016. Desde entonces ha estado participando en festivales como el Atonal de Berlín y Dark Mofo de Tasmania. Desde hace dos años Schnell vien trabajando en su nuevo LP "Oratorio for the Underworld" que edita el destacado sello Subtext Recordings, casa discográfica que publica trabajos de una prometedora camada de artistas electrónicos con aproximación experimental como Ellen Arkbro y James Ginzburg. Asistimos aquí a una propuesta que combina síntesis de diseño de sonido, composición clásica (cortesía de la violonchelista Teresa Álvarez y el violinista Juan Zalba Fuentes) y un collage de historias que revelan momentos de suma intensidad como “Flowers And Silvers” y otros de sosiego y tranquilidad (“Delphos”) y épicos como en “Manta Ride”. "Oratorio for the Underworld" deambula entre la electrónica convulsa (“Sun On Earth”) y aquella con atisbos pop (“Zero Dead Ends”). Estos dos aspectos de pueden dar en un mismo track. Lo interesante de la música de Sophie Schnell es su capacidad para sorprender pues no se rige por una estructura, sino más bien tanto irrumpe con lánguidas sesiones de cuerda como con algunas notas de punzantes bombos. www.subtextrecordings.net Guillermo Escudero Septiembre 2019		Munich based Sophie Schnell aka PYUR makes her debut “Epoch Sinus”, on Hotflush label in 2016. Since then she has been active performing in festivals such as Atonal in Berlin and Dark Mofo in Tasmania. For two years Schnell has been working on her new LP "Oratorio for the Underworld" that released the outstanding label Subtext Recordings, record company that publishes works of a promising crew of electronic artists with an experimental approach such as Ellen Arkbro and James Ginzburg. We attend here a proposal that combines synthesis of sound design, classical composition (courtesy of cellist Teresa Álvarez and violinist Juan Zalba Fuentes) and a collage of stories that reveal moments of great intensity such as “Flowers And Silvers” and others of calm and tranquility ("Delphos") and epic as on "Manta Ride". "Oratorio for the Underworld" wanders between convulsed electronics ("Sun On Earth") and with pop glimpses ("Zero Dead Ends"). These two aspects can coexist in the same track. The interesting thing about Sophie Schnell's music is her ability to surprise because it is not governed by a structure, but rather as much bursts with languid strings as with some notes of stabbing drums. www.subtextrecordings.net Guillermo Escudero September 2019
