Ocho nuevas canciones de ambiente apacible que rememoran los paisajes semidesérticos de Chile, trae el segundo álbum de Irreales del Monte que lo componen Cristian Sánchez: sintetizadores, sampler, ocarina, cascabeles y grabaciones de campo, junto a Antonio Aldunate en guitarra acústica, guitarrón chileno y sonajero.

Su anterior álbum “Historia Natural” (2022) fue el que dio inicio y selló la colaboración entre estos dos músicos. En ese disco desplegaron su talante parsimonioso envuelto en un manto de misterio. En “Los Refugios Insulares” los acordes de guitarra se encuentran tanto en el primer plano como de telón de fondo, mientras los sintetizadores aéreos están omnipresentes sosteniendo algunos pads hasta transformarlos en drones. 

En “Los presagios del nogal” la guitarra de cuerdas metálicas hilvana bellas melodías y hacia la mitad de la canción, Irreales… emprende un viaje maravillo con los sintes creando un ambiente solemne. En “De la cruz en el espejo” asoma el guitarrón dando las notas graves que hacen un magnífico diálogo con la ocarina, haciendo acercamientos al folclore chileno.

Irreales del Monte evoca un paisaje agreste, vasto, en el que apenas se divisa el horizonte. También distante con esas notas ambientales sintetizadas, pero al mismo tiempo cercano por los timbres acústicos de las guitarras.

Eight new songs with a peaceful atmosphere evoking the semi-desert landscapes of Chile, brings the second album by Irreales del Monte composed by Cristian Sánchez: synthesizers, sampler, ocarina, bells and field recordings, together with Antonio Aldunate on acoustic guitar, Chilean guitarrón and rattle.

Their previous album “Historia Natural” (2022) was the one that began and sealed the collaboration between these two musicians. On that full-lenght they deployed their parsimonious disposition wrapped in a cloak of mystery. In “Los Refugios Insulares” the guitar chords are both in the foreground and as a backdrop, whereas the airy synths are omnipresent holding some pads until transforming them into drones.

In “Los presagios del nogal” the steel-string guitar weaves mesmerizing melodies and as the song progresses, Irreales… undertakes a wonderful journey with the synths creating a solemn atmosphere. In “De la cruz en el espejo” the guitarrón emerges giving the bass notes that form a magnificent dialogue with the ocarina, making approaches to Chilean folklore.

Irreales del Monte conjure-up a wild, vast landscape, in which the horizon can barely be seen. Also distant with those synthesized ambient notes, but at the same time close due to the acoustic timbres of the guitars.
