Corrado Maria De Santis es un guitarrista italiano al que después de su álbum “A Year Without Summer” (Midira, 2021) y “Fallen (autoeditado, 2021), Midira Records publica su más reciente trabajo, “Ruins”. Este disco consiste en cuatro tracks edificantes por sus épicas melodías, junto a densas atmósferas en donde se mezcla ruido, glitches y drones. De Santis improvisa con su guitarra como lo muestra “Decaying Work of Giants” - que apertura este álbum -, a la que interviene con sus dispositivos electrónicos, añadiéndole capas de polvo cósmico, sonidos abrasivos y crudos. “Standing under Storms” con sus trepidantes pulsos rítmicos chocan con las murallas de sonido que produce la guitarra. Es un viaje sin retorno al que hay que dejarse llevar. Soltar amarras y volar por esas nubes de drones interminables. “Perished and Fallen” comienza con un estribillo de piano (o similar), mientras irrumpen chasquidos y glitches, junto a un beat aplastante como si fuera una ceremonia tribal, pero que lentamente va cediendo hasta que un silbido atmosférico de sintetizador se encuentra con los suaves acordes de una guitarra. “One Reign after another” 

que cierra este álbum, es una alegoría a las bellas melodías que destila la guitarra. Corrado Maria De Santis despliega un gran trabajo de oníricos paisajes sonoros imborrables.

Corrado Maria De Santis is an Italian guitarist who, after his album “A Year Without Summer” (Midira, 2021) and “Fallen (self-released, 2021), Midira Records releases his most recent work, “Ruins”. This album consists of four uplifting tracks due to their epic melodies, along with dense atmospheres where noise, glitches and drones are blended. De Santis improvises with his guitar as shown in “Decaying Work of Giants” -which opens this album-, to which he intervenes with electronic devices, adding layers of cosmic dust, abrasive and raw sounds. “Standing under Storms” with its frenetic rhythmic pulses collide with the walls of sound produced by the guitar. It is a journey of no return to which you have to let yourself go. Drop your moorings and fly through those endless drone clouds. “Perished and Fallen” begins with a refrain on piano (or similar), as clicks and glitches erupt, along with a smashing beat like in a tribal ceremony, but slowly fades until an atmospheric whoosh of synthesizer that meets the soft guitar chords. Rounding off the album, “One Reign after another” is an allegory to the mesmerizing melodies distilled by the guitar. Corrado Maria De Santis unfolds a great work of dreamlike indelible soundscapes.
