El sello sueco Novoton anuncia el tercer single “The Poison Tree” de la artista, compositora, productora musical y multi-instrumentista noruega, residente en Estocolmo, Katharina Nuttall, quien además compone bandas sonoras para largometrajes, documentales, televisión y cortometrajes. “The Poison Tree” antecede su cuarto álbum “The Garden”, a publicarse el 21 de octubre próximo en Novoton. Su música abarca géneros como el art-rock, el synth-pop, pop alternativo y post-punk. Sus letras hablan de sus experiencias personales en las que convergen emociones y sentimientos con sus luces y sombras, tensiones, miedo, esperanzas, libertad, coraje, amor, cambio y renacer. Pero sobre todo sus canciones están cargadas de bellas melodías envueltas en un sublime romanticismo. Her music spans genres like art-rock, synth-pop, alternative pop, and post-punk. Her lyrics speak of her personal experiences in which emotions and feelings converge with their lights and shadows, tensions, fear, hopes, freedom, courage, love, change and rebirth. But above all her songs are charged of mesmerizing melodies wrapped in a sublime romanticism. ¿Hay alguna diferencia en tu enfoque cuando escribes para un álbum o para una película/documentales/cortometraje? “Cuando escribo música para mí como artista, se trata más de experiencias personales y cosas que necesito procesar o investigar. Cuando escribo para películas, tengo la oportunidad de profundizar en las historias y experiencias de vida de otras personas, una forma más tradicional de escribir canciones con verso, puente y coros, y escribir para películas más instrumentales donde la música sigue un curso dramatúrgico". En la canción “Talk to Silence” incluida en tu próximo álbum “The Garden”, hablas de conversar con las sombras y los ángeles. En relación al silencio, ¿qué significa para ti? "Un retrato de un duelo por alguien perdido; una oración para deshacerse de alguien dentro pero que se mantiene mientras sigues orando, mientras las palabras siguen saliendo. Una (falta) de voluntad ambivalente de ser libre, si tu entiendes..." ¿Cómo surgió ese maravilloso coro de ángeles en el single 'Inspired by John Keats'? "'Inspired by John Keats' refleja un anhelo de, como los árboles, permanecer profundamente arraigados sin importar el clima. Un deseo de evitar ser arrastrado por las pérdidas de la vida. Un hechizo musical. El coro de ángeles representa la esperanza y el cambio". ¿Combinas tu música con otras formas de arte? "Escribo música para cine y teatro y para exhibiciones e instalaciones de arte. También produzco otros artistas para que mis arreglos y música también se plasme en sus discos". Cuéntanos sobre tus próximos proyectos musicales. "Acabo de terminar de escribir música para una obra de teatro sobre una madre que desaparece cada vez más en el olvido y este otoño escribiré música para dos películas. Una película es sobre los animales que lanzamos al espacio y la otra es sobre nuestro rey sueco. También comencé a trabajar en mi quinto álbum, por lo que hay mucha música e historias sucediendo..." Guillermo Escudero Octubre 2022		Is there any difference in your approach when you write for an album or for a movie / documentaries / short film? "When I write music for myself as an artist, it's more about personal experiences and things I need to process or investigate. When I write for movies I get the opportunity to deepen other people's stories and experiences of life. Writing and album is maybe also more of a traditional way of songwriting with verse, bridge and chorus and writing for film more instrumental where the music follows a dramaturgical course." In the song 'Talk to silence' included in your upcoming album 'The Garden', you speak about talking to the shadows and to the angels. In relation to silence, what does it mean to you? "A portrayal of a grief over a lost one; a prayer to get rid of someone inside but that is held as long as you keep praying, as long as the words keep coming. An ambivalent (un)willingness to be free, if you understand." How did that wonderful choir of angels come about in the single 'Inspired by John Keats'? "'Inspired by John Keats' reflects a longing to, like the trees, stand deeply rooted regardless of the weather. A desire to avoid being swept away by life's losses. A musical spell. The choir of angels represents hope and change." Do you combine your music with other art-forms? "I write music for film and theatre and for art exhibitions and installations. I also produce other artists so my arrangements and music end up on their records too." Please tell us about your next musical projects. "I have just finished writing music for a theater play about a mother who disappears further and further into oblivion and this autumn I will write music for two films. One film is about the animals we launched into space and the other film is about our Swedish king. I have also started working on my fifth album so there is a lot of music and stories going on..."
