Esta nueva colaboración entre Rutger Zuydervelt es la continuación del álbum "Oehoe" editado en 2020 por Where to Now? Records. 

Anne Bakker es violinista, violista y vocalista. Estudió música desde muy temprana edad y comenzó las clases preparatorias en el Conservatorio de Arnhem a los 13 años. Estudió violín y canto en los conservatorios de Rotterdam y Arnhem. Ha colaborado con varios artistas en distintos géneros musicales, así como realizado giras con grupos de teatro holandeses.

Rutger Zuydervelt es un artista sonoro holandés quien en 2004 comienza a trabajar bajo el alias de Machinefabriek. Ha editado más de 100 álbumes tanto en solitario como en colaboraciones con importantes músicos de la escena experimental.

En "Wisps" el apasionante trabajo vocal de Anne Bakker se despliega con su voz, como un instrumento más. Tanto canta como vocaliza, urdiendo diálogos abstractos con aproximaciones a la Música Clásica Contemporánea. Es notable cómo rasguea las cuerdas en “Folklore” para marcar un ritmo palpitante, en tanto que el violín se desenvuelve libremente con una melodía épica. Machinefabriek agrega texturas electrónicas consistentes en sutiles ruidos y líneas ambientales, agregando algunos sonidos con ciertos bordes levemente distorsionados. “Wisps” con carácter cinematográfico logra crear una atmósfera inquietante con momentos de silencio, insinuando historias y personajes que entrarán en escena.

A new collaboration between Rutger Zuydervelt and Anne Bakker is the follow-up to the album "Oehoe" released in 2020 by Where to Now? Records.

Anne Bakker is a violinist, violist and vocalist. She studied music from an early age and began preparatory classes at the Arnhem Conservatory at the age of 13. She studied violin and singing at the conservatories in Rotterdam and Arnhem. She has collaborated with several artists in different musical genres, as well as toured with Dutch theater groups.

Rutger Zuydervelt is a Dutch sound artist who in 2004 began working under the alias Machinefabriek. He has released more than 100 albums, both solo and in collaborations with renown artists of the experimental scene.

In "Wisps" the engrossing vocal work of Anne Bakker unfolds with her voice like just another instrument. Both sings and vocalizes, carrying out abstract dialogues that have approaches to contemporary classical music. It's remarkable how she strums the strings on “Folklore” reaching a throbbing rhythm, while the violin unravels freely with an epic melody. Machinefabriek adds electronic textures consisting of subtle noises and environmental lines, adding some sounds with slightly distorted edges. “Wisps” with a cinematic character manages to create an disquieting atmosphere with moments of silence, hinting at stories and characters that will come into a scene.
