En los albores de los ’90 Taylor Deupree trabajó como diseñador gráfico en el extinto e influyente sello de Nueva York, Instinct Records. En el que se editó uno de sus discos como parte del trío en la vertiente techno, Prototype 909. En 1997, funda su sello 12k, etiqueta que ya tiene más de 100 discos editados. Ha presentado sus instalaciones en sitio específicos en Japón y es un entusiasta colaborador con otros artistas como Ryuichi Sakamoto, David Sylvian, Stephan Mathieu, Stephen Vitiello, Marcus Fischer, Federico Durand, entre otros. 

Deupree toca piano, sintetizador modular y Moog, cintas y guitarra. Con ello crea composiciones minimalistas que se desarrollan en torno a parsimoniosas notas de piano y dispositivos analógicos que despliegan atmósfera brumosas. 

"Harbor" es el décimo cuarto lanzamiento en solitario que tiene como columna vertebral una textura rugosa y polvorienta que captura algunos retazos de sonido externo, que se mezclan con una marcada estética del error, representada en su mayor parte por glitches. Las cristalina notas del piano se combinan con el tintineo de campanillas y loops de los sintetizadores. Todo esto ocurre en un ambiente calmo, con espacios de silencio, donde es posible apreciar la resonancia de cada sonido. Taylor Deupree nos deleita una vez más con un disco íntimo y profundo que toca el alma.

In the early 1990s Taylor Deupree worked as a graphic designer at the defunct and influential New York label Instinct Records. In which one of his albums was released as part of the trio in the techno vein, Prototype 909. In 1997, he founded his 12k label, an imprint that already has over 100 releases. He has showcased his site-specific installations in Japan and is a keen collaborator with other artists such as Ryuichi Sakamoto, David Sylvian, Stephan Mathieu, Stephen Vitiello, Marcus Fischer, Federico Durand, among others.

Deupree plays piano, modular and Moog synthesizer, tapes and guitar, creating minimalist compositions that develop around parsimonious piano notes and analog devices that display misty atmospheres.

"Harbor" is the fourteenth solo release that has as its backbone a rough and dusty texture that captures some bits of external sound, which are mixed with a marked aesthetic of failure, represented mostly by glitches. The crystalline notes of the piano are combined with the tinkle of chimes synthesizers loops. All this happens in a calm environment, with spaces of silence, where it is possible to appreciate the resonance of each sound. Taylor Deupree delights us once again with an intimate and profound album that touches the soul.
