La productora electrónica y DJ alemana afincada en Colonia Sonia Güttler,  bajo el alias de Sonae, edita su quinto álbum y primero en el sello francés Laaps. Ha participado en solitario y también junto a Monika Werkstatt (ambas con discos en el sello Monica Enterprise de Berlín) en distintos escenarios de Europa.

En “Summer” la electrónica experimental de Güttler tiene distintas variantes inesperadas, con retorcidos sonidos sintéticos, oblicuas atmósferas donde la armonía no se impone necesariamente en todos los contornos del disco. A veces los ritmos 4x4 y la caja de ritmos analógica de texturas ácidas nos acercan al techno más primitivo, pero en otras oportunidades las pulsaciones rítmicas no obedecen a ningún patrón e interactúan en forma paralela y a distintos tiempos. Se desarrollan atmósferas inquietantes debajo de una amplia gama de bordes oscuros y notas sintéticas zigzagueantes con un beat persistente. Intensidad puesta a prueba cuyos límites son difusos que devela una exquisita abstracción.

Sonia Güttler apuesta por una rítmica permanente junto a una amalgama de capas sintéticas penetrantes permitiendo que el oyente evoque imágenes bajo el prisma de un caleidoscopio.

Cologne-based German electronic producer and DJ Sonia Güttler, under the moniker of Sonae, is releasing her fifth album and first on the French Laaps label. She has participated as a solo artist and along with Monika Werkstatt (both artists with albums on the Berlin based Monica Enterprise label) on different festivals, galleries and venues in Europe.

In “Summer” Güttler's experimental electronics have different unexpected variations, with twisted synthetic sounds, oblique atmospheres where harmony is not necessarily imposed on all the contours of the album. Sometimes the 4x4 rhythms and the acid-textured analog drum machine bring us closer to the most primitive techno, but at other times the pulsing beats do not obey to any pattern and interact in parallel and at different times. Eerie atmospheres develop underneath a wide range of dark edges and zigzagging synthetic notes with a lingering beat. Intensity tested whose limits are diffuse that reveals an exquisite abstraction.

Sonia Güttler delivers a permanent rhythm together with an amalgam of penetrating synthetic layers allowing the listener to evoke images under the prism of a kaleidoscope.
