La banda está formada por Jan Bang, Erik Honoré, Eivind Aarset, Samuel Rohrer, John Derek Bishop, quienes editaron en 2019 su álbum homónimo y esta vez sacan su segundo álbum también en Arjunamusic.

La agrupación utiliza una variada instrumentación acústica y electrónica. Jan Bang canta y toca sampler en vivo, samples y piano. Erik Honoré en sintetizador, samples, bajo sintetizado, voz y letras, Eivind Aarset toca la guitarra, electrónica y bajo. John Derek Bishop, sampler en vivo, voz, bajo, y registros de campo y Samuel Rohrer en batería, percusión, electrónica y sintetizadores modulares. Todos ellos tienen una importante trayectoria musical.

Para “Walk Through Lightly” se utilizó material en bruto de grabaciones iniciales y sesiones de improvisación, para recomponerlas. La melancolía se apodera de todos los rincones de este disco, con la profunda y grave voz del músico noruego Jan Bang. A ello se agregan arreglos de percusión suave y texturas electrónicas.

Dark Star Safari nos entrega un trabajo íntimo, con pasajes en que se cierne el silencio, dejando en vilo el alma y nuestras reflexiones.

The band is made up of Jan Bang, Erik Honoré, E claim Aarset, Samuel Rohrer, John Derek Bishop, who released their self-titled album in 2019 and this time they publish their second album also on the Arjunamusic label.

The group uses a variety of acoustic and electronic instrumentation. Jan Bang sings and plays live sampling, samples, and piano. Erik Honoré on synthesizer, samples, synthesized bass, vocals and lyrics, Eivind Aarset plays guitar, electronics and bass. John Derek Bishop, live sampling, vocals, bass, and field recordings, and Samuel Rohrer on drums, percussion, electronics, and modular synthesizers. All of them have an important musical trajectory.

For “Walk Through Lightly” raw material from initial recordings and jam sessions were used to put them back together. Melancholic tunes take over every corner of this album, with the deep and baritone voice of Norwegian musician Jan Bang. Added to this are soft percussion and electronic textures.

Dark Star Safari gives us an intimate work, with passages in which silence hangs, leaving the soul and our thoughts in suspense.
