El productor británico residente en Berlín saca un nuevo álbum en solitario en su propio sello, después de nueve años de colaboraciones con su grupo Tunes Of Negation, Ernesto Tomasini y Anika.

En el mundo sonoro de Shackleton convergen atmósferas inquietantes que se acentúan con las percusiones tribales y patrones de percusión con fuertes indicios psicodélicos. 

Nada más comenzar este disco con “Something Tells Me / Pour Out like Water!”, un viaje de casi 13 minutos, los samples de voz y cítara le otorgan un aire oriental, a lo que se suma variada percusión y notas sintetizadas produciendo una melodía oscura. “The Turbulent Sea” nos invita a una espacialidad más etérea que se construye con delicadas notas de teclado y percusiones como si estuvieran flotando en el ambiente. “Shimmer, Then Fade” parece que fuera una invitación a una travesía subacuática, con sonidos de agua y campanas, además de una soterrada voz que viene desde lo profundo. “One of Us Escaped”, comienza con voces encontradas que junto a las texturas electrónicas mantiene la tensión. “The Light That Was Hidden” ofrece una atractiva melodía repetitiva y una voz sampleada que se parece a un mantra que sigue produciendo sus efectos en “Few Are Chosen”. “Transformed into Love” cierra este álbum con ese aire misterioso y lisérgico. Shackleton con este álbum nos propone un viaje hipnótico y también a estar e un estado de reflexión, junto a ricas texturas sonoras.

The Berlin-based British producer puts out a new solo album on his own label after nine years of collaborations with his group Tunes Of Negation, Ernesto Tomasini and Anika.

Haunting atmospheres converge in Shackleton's sonic world, accentuated by tribal drums and drum patterns with strong hints to psychedelia.

As soon as this album begins with “Something Tells Me / Pour Out like Water!”, a journey of almost 13 minutes, the vocal and zither samples give it an oriental air, to which is added varied percussion and synthesized notes producing a dark melody. "The Turbulent Sea" invites us to a more ethereal spatiality that is built with delicate keyboard notes and percussions as if they were floating in the environment.

"Shimmer, Then Fade" seems to be an invitation to an underwater journey, with water and bells sounds, as well as a buried voice that comes from deepness. "One of Us Escaped" begins with found sample vocal that, together with the electronic textures, maintains the tension. "The Light That Was Hidden" offers an attractive repeating melody and a sampled vocal that resembles a mantra that continues to produce its effects on "Few Are Chosen." "Transformed into Love" closes this album with that mysterious and lysergic air. Shackleton’s new album proposes us a hypnotic journey and also an state of reflection as well, along with rich sound textures.
