Casi 40 años desde su formación en 1982, O Yuki Conjugate es un grupo musical inglés postindustrial / ambiental fundado en Nottingham por Roger Horberry y Andrew Hulme. 

La segunda reencarnación después de su separación, lo componen sus miembros originales Horberry y Hulme, junto con Malcolm McGeorge, Dan Mudford y Pete Woodhead.

Originalmente editado sólo como CD en la enigmática y oscura etiqueta holandesa Staalplaat en 1995, “Equator” es una revisión que se publica en vinilo por Aguirre Records e incluye 30 minutos adicionales de material y nuevo arte de carátula a cargo del artista y actor Frederick Schimmelschmidt.

En “Equator” son 18 tracks evocadores del sonido post-industrial de densas atmósferas que crea paisajes sonoros alimentados con una variada percusión con atisbos al Medio Oriente y que imprimen un carácter étnico y tribal. Junto con ello, se producen paisajes apacibles que se traducen en sesiones de ambient, además de flirteos a la electrónica de suaves pulsaciones rítmicas.

Dentro de los piezas adicionales destacadas está “Equatorial” con su líneas ambientales oscuras de sintetizador, así como “Fleshtones” con sus delicados beats y el tema que cierra el álbum “A Gap Between Two Worlds” insinúa con una percusión tribal y la pasividad ambiental, la dicotomía entre la cultura occidental y la oriental o bien la diferencia entre los países del primer y tercer mundo. 

Entre los temas originales del disco, “Sunchemical”, “Skinned”, “Mansoases” bien resumen la trayectoria de un grupo que dejará huella en la música underground.

Almost 40 years since its formation in 1982, O Yuki Conjugate is an English post-industrial / ambient musical group founded in Nottingham by Roger Horberry and Andrew Hulme.

The second reincarnation after their split is made up of its original members Horberry and Hulme, along with Malcolm McGeorge, Dan Mudford and Pete Woodhead.

Originally released as a CD only on the enigmatic and dark Dutch label Staalplaat in 1995, "Equator", is revisited on Aguirre Records on vinyl which includes an additional 30 minutes of material and new artwork by artist and actor Frederick Schimmelschmidt.

On “Equator” they are 18 tracks that conjure up the post-industrial sound that sprawl in a texturally dense atmospheres, creating soundscapes fed with a wide range percussion with hints of the Middle East and that print an ethnic and tribal character. Along with this, peaceful landscapes are produced that are translated into ambient sessions, as well as flirtations to electronics with soft driving beats.

Additional featured pieces include “Equatorial” with its dark synth ambient lines, as well as “Fleshtones” with its delicate beats, and the album's closing track “A Gap Between Two Worlds” hints at tribal percussion and ambient passivity. The dichotomy between Western and Eastern culture or the difference between the first and third world.

Among the original songs on the album, “Sunchemical”, “Skinned”, “Mansoases” well sum up the trajectory of a group that will leave its mark on cutting-edge music.
