El último álbum de Lore City, "Participation Mystique", lanzado el 23 de julio de 2021, es el cuarto álbum de studio que compusieron Laura Mariposa Williams (voz y teclados) y Eric Angelo Bessel (percusión, teclados y guitarra).

Las pulsaciones rítmicas de “And Tomorrow” que abre el album son el presagio de un viaje hipnótico con la voz envolvente de Laura y teclados ambientales y caja rítmica. “I Know You Know” logra gran intensidad con su carácter épico y mensaje desde la atalaya. 

“I Am the One” me parece que vuelve a la esencia de este dúo con su aire gótico, texturas impolutas, voz celestial como si fuera un mantra y percusión tribal que acaricia con su candor (aquí es donde me quiero quedar…). ¡Esta canción es simplemente preciosa! Escuchando “Original Feeling” con el loop ensoñador y ritmo cautivador me evoca a los magníficos ochenta en donde se encuentran Dead Can Dance y Eyeless In Gaza, los nuevos místicos y la synth wave. 

Con este disco Lore City despliegan sus alas que vuelan por todo lo alto con sus sublimes melodías, ricas texturas y ritmos sugestivos. Un album potente, sólido y de gran sensiblidad.

Lore City's latest album, "Participation Mystique," released July 23, 2021, is the fourth studio album composed by Laura Mariposa Williams (vocals, keyboards) and Eric Angelo Bessel (percussion, keyboards, guitar).

The opener “And Tomorrow” and its driving rhythm are the harbinger of a hypnotic journey with Laura's enveloping voice, ambient keyboards lines and drum machine. "I Know You Know" achieves great intensity with its epic character and message from the watchtower.

"I Am the One" seems to me to return to the essence of this duo with its gothic nuance, unpolluted textures, celestial voice as if it were a mantra and the tribal percussion that caresses with its candor (this is where I want to stay...). This song is just gorgeous! “Original Feeling” with the dreamy loop and captivating rhythm conjure up the magnificent eighties where Dead Can Dance and Eyeless In Gaza meet, the new mystics and the synth wave.

With this album Lore City spread their wings that fly high with their sublime melodies, rich textures and suggestive rhythms. A powerful, solid album with great sensitivity.
