Los paisajes sonoros oscuros crean un escenario brumoso, melancólico que, con el paso del ulular de las ambulancias que pululan en las cercanías donde vive la banda de Nueva York, reflejan el escenario pandémico que esa ciudad vivió en sus días más angustiosos. Ello con un permamente susurro que acompaña el canto, junto a una guitarra con riff agudos y melódicos. Una propuesta en donde se encuentran el shoe-gaze,   la Kosmische Musik, la psicodelia y el art-rock.

La cautivadora voz del cantante envuelve al oyente desde el primer momento con “A New Kind of Weather”, acompañado por los suaves ritmos de la batería de Greg Fox y la guitarra afilada de Viktor Timofeev. Luego en “Shudder Into Silence” comienza un viaje por los corredores cósmicos planeando sobre nuestras cabezas, mientras las sirenas de las ambulancias pululan por las calles inanimadas de la Gran Manzana. Escenario siniestro pero sumamente real. 

“In The Sands” con su aire evocador de las canciones de Ride o Slowdive despliega bellas guitarras cristalinas.” I Drove All Night”, canción original del cantaautor y músico Roy Orbison, es una versión melancólica, íntima y bella al mismo tiempo. “The Practice of Injury” es un homenaje al compositor estonio Arvo Pärt, cuyo desarrollo se desenvuelve en una atmósfera oscura, con líneas de teclados ambientales penetrantes e hipnóticas.   

Este disco en mi opinión debería estar entre los mejores de este año porque su dimensión psicodélica, ensoñadora, logra transportar al oyente al mundo que estamos viviendo en estos tiempos.

The dark soundscapes create a hazy, melancholic scene that, with the passing of the wailing of ambulances that swarm in the vicinity where the New York band lives, reflect the pandemic scene that that city lived in its most harrowing days. This is done with a permanent singer’s whisper that accompanies the song, along with a guitar with a sharp and melodic riff. A proposal where shoe-gaze, kosmische musik, psychedelia and art-rock meet.

The singer's captivating voice enveloped the listener from the first moment with “A New Kind of Weather”, accompanied by the soft rhythms of Greg Fox's drums and Viktor Timofeev's sharp guitar. Then on "Shudder Into Silence" begins a journey through the cosmic corridors hovering over our heads, while the sirens of ambulances swarm through the inanimate streets of the Big Apple. Sinister but extremely real scenario.

"In The Sands" with its evocative air of Ride or Slowdive songs displays beautiful crystalline guitars. "I Drove All Night”, an original song by singer-songwriter and musician Roy Orbison, is a melancholic, intimate and beautiful version at the same time. "The Practice of Injury" is a tribute to Estonian composer Arvo Pärt, whose development takes place in a dark atmosphere, with penetrating and hypnotic ambient keyboard lines.

This album in my opinion should be among the best of this year because its psychedelic, dreamy dimension manages to transport the listener to the world we are living in these times.
