Summer Of Seventeen son Monika Khot (Nordra, Zen Mother), William Fowler Collins, Daniel Menche, Faith Coloccia (Mamiffer,) y Aaron Turner (Sumac, Split Cranium).
La mayoría de los artistas publican en Sige Records, etiqueta fundada por Faith Coloccia y Aaron Turner.
Este álbum homónino tiene una mezcla de drone, doom y noise que estos renombrados artistas del underground plasman en este disco de atmósfera oscura y angustiante. La voz despavorida y alterada en el estilo doom y las guitarras chirriantes hacen de “Perceived Slight”, un track desgarrador. Así también se percibe en “Love without Things”, con sus palpitantes latidos industriales. Además de ruido y ritmos punzantes, emergen las voces fantasmales de Coloccia y Khot, configurando un cuadro espeluznante. “Theatre needs an Audience”, la última cancion de este disco, ofrece un diálogo entre la aterradora voz de Coloccia y una soterrada voz masculina, junto a unos rasgueos brillantes que cierra un disco que según Coloccia: “parece que todos estábamos anticipando algo como esta pandemia actual.”

Summer Of Seventeen are Monika Khot (Nordra, Zen Mother), William Fowler Collins, Daniel Menche, Faith Coloccia (Mamiffer,) and Aaron Turner (Sumac, Split Cranium).
Most of the artists publish on Sige Records, a label founded by Faith Coloccia and Aaron Turner.
This homonymous album has a mix of drone, doom and noise that these renowned underground artists embody in this album with a dark and anguishing atmosphere. The freaked out, doom-altered voice and screeching guitars make “Perceived Slight” a heartbreaking track. This is also perceived in “Love without Things”, with its pulsating industrial beats. In addition to the noise and piercing rhythms, the ghostly voices of Coloccia and Khot emerge, configuring a lurid picture. “Theater needs an Audience”, the last song on this album, offers a dialogue between Coloccia’s terrifying voice and a buried male voice, along with some brilliant strums that closes an album that according to Coloccia: “it seems like we were all sort of anticipating something like this current pandemic happening…”
