BOW es un quinteto de cuerdas de residente en Bruselas compuesto por Margaret Hermant, violín, Benoit Leseure, violín, Jean-François Durdu, viola, Marine Horbazweski, Chemo y Cyrille de Haes, en doble bajo.

Los miembros de BOW han colaborado con Jóhann Jóhannsson, A Winged Victory For The Sullen, Stars of the Lid y Steve Reich Project, entre otros artistas.

BOW tanto componen sus propias piezas como improvisan en el contexto de la música neo clásica. En “Bryanbaum” el doble bajo marca un pulso consta y suave como preámbulo a la entrada de los violines que forman una bella línea ambiental que evocan la música de A Winged Victory For The Sullen. “Edda” muestra un diálogo entre los violines y la viola creando cierta tensión. “Cimes” combina el punteo de cuerdas y las bellas notas del doble bajo que van creando un paisaje armónico, como si tuviera una estructura canción. “Egon” es quizás la pieza más abstracta y con visos a que fuera creada a través de la improvisación.

Finalmente “Silence” entra en la profundidad a través de drones que surcan las atmósferas más oscuras.

BOW crean pasajes sonoros intensos donde se reumen tanto las melodías como las notas disruptivas.

BOW is a Brussels based string quintet composed of Margaret Hermant, violin, Benoit Leseure, violin, Jean-François Durdu, viola, Marine Horbazweski, Chemo and Cyrille de Haes, on double bass.

Members of BOW have played with Jóhann Jóhannsson, A Winged Victory For The Sullen, Stars of the Lid, and Steve Reich Project, among other artists.

BOW both compose their own pieces and improvise in the context of neo classical music. On “Bryanbaum” the double bass marks a steady and smooth pulse as a preamble to the entrance of the violins that form a beautiful ambient line that evoke the music of A Winged Victory For The Sullen. "Edda" shows a dialogue between the violins and the viola creating a certain tension. “Cimes” combines the plucking of strings and the beautiful notes of the double bass that create a harmonic landscape, as if it had a song structure. "Egon" is perhaps the most abstract piece and with a hint that it was created through improvisation.

Finally, "Silence" enters the depth through drones that plow through the darkest atmospheres.

BOW create intense sound passages where melodies and disruptive notes are summed up.
