La iglesia Christuskirche en Bochum, Alemania, en el marco del Moving Noises Festival en 2017, fue el escenario idóneo en donde se unieron la creatividad sonora de tres experimentados artistas de música experimental y drone.
Los astros se unieron cuando Thisquietarmy presentó su álbum “Democracy of Dust”, oportunidad en la que Tom Malmendier colaboró con su batería en los tracks más antiguos de Thisquietarmy y Dirk Serries, reconocido artista belga de principios de los ’80 con su proyecto ambient Vidna Obmana, lanzaba su disco “Epitaph”, tocó la guitarra. Este disco consiste en un solo track con el nombre de “Hell” cuya duración es de aproximadamente de 41 minutos, se conforma un trío que desplegó esa noche de brumosas y gruesas texturas de guitarras distorsionadas y saturadas, hicieron vibrar esas paredes del Siglo 19.
Se aprecian intervalos de cierta calma pero en general se siente una constante tensión de efectos de las guitarras que parecen ráfagas ambientales cuya intensidad va en aumento en la medida que nos acercamos al final del disco. Aquí se me aparecen las guitarras ruidosas de Alan Courtis, Stephen O’Malley y Oren Ambarchi.
Este álbum comienza casi desde el silencio, se desarrolla con un diálogo entre guitarras que experimentan múltiples efectos y finaliza en un completo caos sónoro, que bien podría ser el infierno!

The Christuskirche church in Bochum, Germany, in the context of the Moving Noises Festival in 2017, was the ideal setting where the sound creativity of three renown experimental and drone artists met. The stars joined when Thisquietarmy presented their album "Democracy of Dust", an opportunity in which Tom Malmendier collaborated on drums on the early tracks of Thisquietarmy and Dirk Serries, well-known Belgian artist of the early '80s with his ambient project Vidna Obmana, played the guitar while he was launching his album "Epitaph". In this way a trio was formed which unfolded that night of foggy and thick textures of distorted and saturated guitars, made those walls of the 19th Century shake.
There are intervals of a certain calm but in general there is a constant tension of the guitar effects that seem ambience bursts whose intensity increases as we approach the end of the album. Here I see the noisy guitars of Alan Courtis, Stephen O'Malley and Oren Ambarchi.
This album starts almost from silence, unfold a dialogue between guitars that experience multiple effects and ends in a complete sonorous chaos, which could well be hell!
